Ronnie Landfield moved into the building at 31 Desbrosses St in New York City, taking the first two floors for his living and studio space. His friends, artists John Griefen and Ken Showell moved their studios to the top and middle floors.

Decades later, Ronnie’s' son, Matthew Landfield, wrote Requiem for a Living City about his experience growing up at 31 Desbrosses.

Alec Baldwin’s read Matthew piece and invited him onto his podcast, Here’s the Thing in an episode titled, Matthew Landfield's Wildly Deep History of His Childhood Home.
